To welcome 2020, Timbers Kiawah – Ocean Club & Residences hosted its second annual Oyster Roast & BBQ on January 1.

“This year’s oyster roast was even bigger than last year, with well over 65 Owners attending,” said Timbers Kiawah’s Chef Teddy. “On top of the raw and roasted oysters, we added a selection of our house-smoked meats, a grilling station with burgers, dogs and mahi-mahi and Chef Bobby’s award-winning Crème Brulee.”

The New Year’s Day oyster roast—an event steeped in Lowcountry heritage—drew large numbers of Owners to the Beach Club for food, laughter and ideal beachfront weather: a perfect kick-off to 2020 on Kiawah Island.

“The weather was sensational, sunny and 64 degrees. It was such a wonderful event, watching the Owners interact with one another and the Timbers staff, sharing stories of the past year, joking and smiling,” said Chef Teddy. “We thoroughly enjoyed spending time with our Timbers family and look forward to a fun and exciting 2020.”

The oyster roast epitomized Timbers Kiawah’s commitment to curating lifelong memories for Owners and their guests—one of the leading reasons Owners choose to own with Timbers Resorts.

In 2019, nearly 70 percent of Timbers Resorts Owners polled said ownership has provided them the opportunity to “create a lasting memory with loved ones.”

One Owner said simply: “It’s just been a great place to spend time with family and friends.”

One relished the additional vacation time, enjoying the “opportunity to visit Kiawah Island more than just the once a year as we had done previously.”

“Everyone that has visited Kiawah with us is in awe of the beauty of the property and the incredible kindness of the staff,” enthused another Owner. “Our daughter is your biggest fan and screams when we are coming and cries when we leave.”

If quality time with friends a family, more effortless vacation and less worrying are on your 2020 resolutions list, Timbers Kiawah fits the bill.

We’re sure Chef Teddy has more oyster roasts up his sleeve.
