Life is different in the Lowcountry, and we want our Owners to live, breathe and, of course, eat everything that makes life on Kiawah Island so special.

Timbers Kiawah will now offer a Friday Afternoon Cooking Club from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. with Chef Teddy Folkman at the Beach Club for Owners to gather, socialize and get the lowdown on Lowcountry cuisine and some of Chef Teddy’s favorite dishes.

Chef Teddy will set up shop with the pool and ocean as his backdrop and walk Owners through classic Lowcountry recipes and some of his favorite dishes. Upcoming recipes include Moules Fromage Bleu (Blue Cheese Mussels), Potato Gnocchi, Shrimp Burger and Chicken Bog.

Chef Teddy is a native New Yorker who trained under the James Beard chef, Ann Cashion and dominated the Washington DC food scene as the owner and executive chef of the popular Granville Moore’s on H Street. He was also one of four chefs including Jose Garces, Josh Capon and Wolfgang Puck to open an independent restaurant with Loews Hotels and Resorts. Furthermore, he’s been a regular on the Food Network for beating Bobby Flay in a throw down and competing on season 5 of The Next Food Network Star.

Chef Teddy is excited to meet and mingle with Owners as he demonstrates some of Timbers Kiawah’s signature dishes. Owners will also be able to sample dishes and purchase other food and libations during the demonstration.

January’s featured recipe is Moules Fromage Bleu (Blue Cheese Mussels). Owners can also request for their kitchen to be stocked to make these comfort dishes in the comfort of their own Timbers residence.
