Holiday Events on Kiawah Island

There’s no shortage of holiday events on Kiawah Island! We hand-selected our favorite ways to celebrate spending time together with loved ones this holiday season.

When: November 10 to December 31, 2023 | 5:30 PM to 10 PM

Where: James Island County Park, SC

Kicking off the season is the much-anticipated Holiday Festival of Lights at James Island County Park. From November 13th to the year’s end, this  three-mile route winds through the park, adorned with over 750 displays featuring an estimated two million twinkling lights!

Participate in the heartwarming tradition of writing Letters to Santa. Freshfields Village has set up a special mailbox, located near the Christmas Trees on the Village Green, ensuring that each letter reaches the North Pole with the help of Santa’s elves. 

For every letter received from November 23 through December 18, Freshfields Village will donate $5 to the Dee Norton Child Advocacy Center in Charleston.

Where: FortyEight Wine Bar & Kitchen, Freshfields Village

Every Tuesday evening in December, FortyEight Wine Bar & Kitchen opens its doors for Dining For A Cause. From 5 pm to 9 pm, 50% of all dinner revenue will be donated to support a local charity in Charleston, making this an amazing way to give back to the community this holiday season.

Where: Freshfields Village Green

Experience the magic of the season with the Holiday Starlight Cinema Series at Freshfields Village Green. Bring your chairs and blankets and enjoy free screenings of holiday classics, including “The Polar Express” and “The Santa Claus.”

When: December 31, 2022 | 5:30 PM

Where: Night Heron Park

Say goodbye to 2023 at the New Year’s Eve Family Celebration at Night Heron Park. The event boasts live entertainment, kids’ activities, roasted oysters, BBQ chicken, and a spectacular fireworks display to welcome the New Year.

Timbers Owners are in for a December filled with festive events, creating cherished holiday moments and memories to last a lifetime. From cookie decorating, mulled cider, Christmas crafting, and the annual S’mores and Sweaters fireside event, there’s plenty of activities to help you get in the holiday spirit this year.
