Kiawah Island is a nature-lover’s paradise and is home to 18 different species of mammals, 30-plus species of reptiles and over 300 different types of birds. The island is also home to several conservation efforts, and there are many ways to view our magnificent neighbors.
Thanks to Kiawah’s conservation grounded philosophy, animals here are fairly at ease with people since they aren’t being hunted or bothered.
With 30 miles of paved trails and ten miles of hard-packed beach, spectacular scenery is around every corner, and a nature walk or bike ride is a great way to recharge, connect with nature, and enjoy the beauty of the island.

For the ultimate in tennis facilities, instruction, and overall ambiance, Kiawah’s Roy Barth Tennis Center can’t be beat. Roy Barth Tennis Center now offers 22 courts — twelve resurfaced and ten brand new — for fans of the fuzzy yellow ball to sharpen their skills or enjoy a game.
